Dublin, Ireland (Sigma Wireless Marketing Dept) February 20th, 2004.
Network Operators are to benefit tremendously from Sigma Wireless Technologies Blustream system, a solution set to dramatically alter how Operators optimise network coverage. Blustream remotely provides operators with instant status reviews together with the ability to make optimisation changes as required, while greatly reducing costs of network optimisation by eliminating expensive re-rigging costs and network downtime. Giving operators a complete wireless solution for remote coverage control.
Offering access, anytime, anywhere. Blustream provides a wireless means to control both the pattern tilt of antennas and the gain of amplifiers throughout a network, combining IP based technology with the AISG open standard protocol. Adjustment of ‘variable tilt’ antennas can be made, from a central control point, on-site or from mobile test vehicles. The system comprises of a control server/internet access point to manage the status of each device, Blustream Control Centre, a Blustream node (a site based interface unit) which is connects to a range of portable control devices.
With increased market competition, Operators are faced with the challenge to provide an optimised network with little or no downtime. Currently optimisation is subject to site-access permissions, network downtimes, changing antennas and manual tilt changes, which can be costly and time consuming with subjective accuracy. Blustream enables operators to overcome these obstacles offering a solution to implement coverage changes easier, faster and more accurately, instantly and more importantly remotely.
Blustream constantly monitors your antenna network, seeking out any changes that have taken place on site or remotely and records the up to date status and configurations of all AISG devices. The communications control software is based around a newly defined protocol called AISG (Antenna Industry Standards Group) standard.
Mr Joseph Moore, Managing Director of Sigma Wireless Technologies said that Blustream represented a significant development for operators was indicative of Sigma Wireless commitment to working in partnership with operators for optimum network coverage. ‘The launch of Blustream consolidates Sigma Wireless Technologies leadership position in technological development for network coverage optimisation, combining the iVET antennas with the Blustream considerably strengthens our position as the favoured remote network optimisation solution for Operators’
This new solution provides Operators with instant network status reviews, together with the ability to make optimisation changes as required, with no need for physical access to sites. Saving time, money and uncertainty.
Launching at the 3GSM World Congress, in Cannes from February 23rd-27th, 2004, Sigma Wireless will be demonstrating Blustream at Stand E55, Hall 2 during the congress.
